JOHN R. WERTZ | Managing Principal
John R. Wertz, the Founder and Managing Principal of Wertz REIS, has been consistently recognized as one of the nation’s top real estate investment brokers. With 15 years under his belt in the industry, Mr. Wertz has closed over 300 net lease transactions throughout 43 states totaling more than $1B. Prior to forming Wertz Real Estate Investment Services, he was a top producing broker at a large international brokerage firm.
Throughout his career, Mr. Wertz has specialized in the acquisition and disposition of single tenant net leased properties across the United States. His advisory services include dispositions, portfolio management, 1031 exchange, and placing private capital into net leased investments. Mr. Wertz’s product specialization includes built-to-suit projects, sale-leasebacks, and portfolio dispositions. He has cultivated long-term relationships with private investors, multi-tenant retail developers, preferred developers, tenants, institutions, and brokers nationwide. Mr. Wertz graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2003, is a native of San Diego and a graduate of Point Loma High School. He now resides in Carlsbad, California with his wife and kids.
KRIS M. WERTZ | Chief Operating Officer
Kris Wertz is the Chief Operating Officer at Wertz REIS. She brings over 8 years experience in the commercial real estate industry and has a demonstrated history of success in project and construction management, negotiation, budgeting and collections. She is a strong operations professional with an MBA from San Diego State University and Undergraduate from University of California San Diego.
Prior to joining Wertz REIS, Kris managed a portfolio of 18 drugstore and grocery store anchored shopping centers. She was responsible for small scale construction projects, account collection, legal issues and overseeing daily operation of the centers, including managing a remote team of vendors.
GREG LABARRE | Vice President
Greg LaBarre is a member of the investment sales advisory team at Wertz REIS. He specializes in representing buyers and sellers of quality net leased retail properties throughout the country. His clients include 1031 exchange buyers, private investors, high net worth individuals, developers, and institutional investors.
Prior to working at Wertz Real Estate Investment Services, Mr. LaBarre worked with project development for BRV Construction and sales representation for Hammer, Corporation. A graduate of Cal State University San Marcos where he participated in the school’s collegiate baseball program, he enjoys spending free time with his wife, playing and watching sports, fishing, traveling, and exercise.
MICHAEL D. MULVIHILL | Senior Associate
Michael D. Mulvihill, Investment Sales Associate at Wertz Real Estate Investment Services, specializes in the acquisition and disposition of retail properties nationwide. Mr. Mulvihill generates new clients and advises them on portfolio management, 1031 exchanges, and sale leasebacks. He has cultivated specific relationships with various developers, brokers, and both international and local private investors.
Prior to Wertz Real Estate Investment Services, Mr. Mulvihill began his commercial real estate career at Evans Senior Investments, a boutique brokerage firm specializing in the sale of senior living facilities in Boulder, Colorado. Next, Mr. Mulvihill worked at Voit Commercial Real Estate Services specializing in retail sales and leasing. Mr. Mulvihill graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Certificate of Real Estate. He grew up in San Diego County and in his spare time he enjoys guitar, ukulele, tennis, snowboarding, skateboarding, and golf.
